About Phuket

Phuket is known as the 'Pearl of the Andaman, Thailand' is an amazing tourist destination well-known one of the world’s most famous and popular island holiday destinations. Located on the southern Thailand, approximately 862 kilometers south of Bangkok, easy reachable from Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Koh Samui. The Phuket island is connected to mainland Thailand by a bridge. It is situated off the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea.

Phuket is an ideal base from which to explore the Andaman region. Many boats leave Phuket for trips around Phang Nga Bay, with its impossibly sheer limestone outcrops that rise out of the sea, many caves and odd shaped islands.

One of the most popular tourist areas on Phuket is Patong Beach on the central western coast, perhaps owing to the easy access to its wide and long beach. Most of Phuket's nightlife and its cheap shopping is located in Patong, and the area has become increasingly developed.

Other popular destinations are Phi Phi Island, Racha Islands and the Similan Islands. The Similans are considered to be among the top ten dive sites in the world.

The best time to visit Phuket are between November to April, when it is possible to see the clear blue sky, feel the fresh sea breeze and marvel at the crystal clear water. The rainy season on Phuket is during the summer from May to October. The high season is from November until the end of April, the low season in Phuket is during the summer from May until the end of October. Average temperatures ranges between 23C and 33C.

Patong Beach

Patong is the largest beach resort on the island of Phuket which offers numerous leisure, sporting, shopping and recreational options along its 3-kilometre long crescent bay. Windsurfing, snorkelling, sailing, swimming and sunbathing number among the many popular daytime activities. Patong is equally well known for its vibrant nightlife, among which seafood restaurants feature prominently.

Accommodations on Patong Beach range from budget hotel to five-star resorts. Shopping opportunities appear to be endless. Whatever one’s culinary disposition, a restaurant catering to it will be found.

Karon Beach

The second largest of Phuket’s principal tourist beaches. Large resort complexes line the road back of the beach, but the strand itself, long and broad, has no development. The sand is very white, and squeaks audibly when walked on...

Kata Beach

Located approximately 17 kilometers from Phuket City are Kata Noi and Kata Yai Beaches. Both are renowned for snorkeling to see the coral, tropical fishes and the seas eco-system. Also worth visiting is Ko Pu, a small uninhabited island located off Laem Sai. Most visitors find snorkeling along the islands rich coral reef enjoyable. Diverse beach activities are available on both beaches.

Accommodations on Kata Beach are set amidst tropical and cliff settings. Visitors can choose to stay in budget to top end accommodations according to their preference.
